Flat tire. That is just how today was. I got up early and went right out to add air and get to the warehouse. The tire was flat, and my little pump was dead, so I changed from the flat tire to the tinny tiny spare-donut thing on and took the car to a gas station to fill the tire. After adding air, I found the nail, and it hissed air all the way to the warehouse. I went to see what was going out and if there weren’t much, I would take them with me to Walmart to have the tire fixed. There were 48 packages for 41 stops so that plan was a no go. I left the route and went to Walmart getting there around 5:40 am (EST) the automotive department opened at 7am, so I had some time to stop and think about just how much time I was wasting. When they opened, they said the nail was too close to the sidewall so they couldn’t fix it. $70 later I was back on the road. Back at the warehouse, 8 of the packages going to one stop turned out not to be a part of my route. I had 40 packages for 40 stops and what turned out to be a good route and wonderful weather. I mean today is the epitome of good weather, sunny warm but not too warm with a nice breeze. The tire thing cost me more than money, it cost me time. I was four hours behind what I should have been if I didn’t have the tire thing happen. Now for three days off…...
I posted the last part of chapter twelve earlier today. I will also post a correction to a part in chapter one to reflect on how this chapter ended. I hope to get some work on this all weekend long (around grass cutting, laundry and unknown). I hope to work on this in what will act as my closed-door typing room (my bedroom), so I can get away from the TV and all the distractions. By the end of this weekend, I should be well on my way to finishing this story (just not my June 1st) with more to come……...
Thank you for your time.
