Warning: Nostalgia for a place I don’t remember Alert
Today didn’t turn out like I thought it would. Usually, Thursdays are lighter than most other days, and on those weeks with lighter loads, it is usually the lightest day. I had 56 packages for 55 stops. With this cold, I decided not to take two packages going to a daycare and one package was in my files but not in person (or in the car) when I left. My route took me all over the county including my Thursday run to Brunswick. The weather was perfect. Sunny but not too sunny with a nice cool breeze. I was in Chippewa Lake (the city not the lake), and it reminded me of this little village near the Chesapeake back in Maryland. There was this restaurant way back in what felt like the middle of nowhere with the best seafood, including crab cakes. If I can find out the name, I’ll post it tomorrow, but they had some of the best seafood I can remember (or just maybe its just nostalgia). It also reminded me of Lakemore with houses all close together, small and random. I almost felt like I was home. The route was long, but on days like this, I don’t mind the drive. This is the kind of day that makes me happy to be doing this job. So of course, it’s going to rain on Friday. I got home and cut the grass then cleaned and fired up the grill for the first time this year.
I’m (darn it) working on the next chapter but today was a busy day outside. I have a little bit of it, but after thinking about it, I had mentioned in a throwaway story that I want to expand with this chapter being a turning point in Willie’s story. Or in other words, she’s going to kill a lot of people by the end of this chapter. With that in mind, I won’t have anything to post tonight. Depending on what’s happening tomorrow I might have something then and for sure this weekend (rainy weekend) with nothing planned. I hope to get stuff done with more to come……….
Thank you for your time.
