Every stop no matter how small a street I found a parade of cars blocking my way in and my way out. For some reason when it rains my turn signals stop working. Then there was the GPS taking me to closed streets. At least two of them were out of my way (not a logical route from one stop to another). It’s like there was something or someone working against me. Does anyone know where Ed Harris is? Are they following me? Am I crazy?
I am working on the chapter and will have part 2 of chapter 2 added soon. Thank you for your time and attention.
Thursdays are usually short work days. Fewer deliveries with most of them either close together or easy to get to. I had 15 stops today. I was done with my route by 8:17am. The benefit was that I didn’t spend enough time on the road for road rage to set in. I am finishing chapter 2 and I will start posting parts today. Thank you for your time.
Today I was going down the road at about 65 on a 55 MPH part of 76. Is a drove I was passed again and again almost as if I was parked. People traveling in a row flashing their lights because 70+ just isn’t fast enough. People weaving back and forth from lane to lane with no signal or even an attempt to let others know what they are doing. Cutting off trucks and construction vehicles (concrete trucks and such). And lets just not talk about the fuster cluck that is the construction zone on 224.
Other than the crazy road ragey loons on the road this was a very nice delivery day. great weather, not very many apartments and only ten or so closed roads due to construction. As I went around I found more road signs for future road closings. Pearl road will soon be a bad place for deliveries.
The good weather helped with the block and I now have a plan for the next three chapters in the adventures of The Knuckle-Smash Kid. Part 4 will be up loaded by 4pm EST. If you are reading this and want more than don’t worry I will have much more soon. I don’t see this as a book so there will be as many chapters as I can write. Thank you for your time, patience and use of a turn signal.
We should end the right-turn-on-red for construction zones. I watched a person pull into oncoming traffic so she could turn right on red on to a closed road (open to local traffic). She nearly hit an oncoming car as well as the one turning left (with a green light). There was a time when a person’s common sense would have told them not to try that but that day is gone. Dead. Beaten to death with a shovel and buried in the back yard with all those census takers (but I have said too much).
Part three of chapter one will be posted real soon. Thank you for your time.
It’s days like this I can really use more deliveries. I had only 35 stops today in what was perfect delivery weather. I know I shouldn’t complain. There really aren’t all that many good days for such work. This week we will have three days (including today) then the rain returns for the next ten days.
I am posting part two as soon as I can fight it onto the site. I will work on the next chapter so I will have something to post later. I will also work on the book. Thank you for your time and for not hunting me down for writing this.
I finished the first chapter in my new story called The Knuckle-Smash Kid. I am going to break it down into five parts and post one part a day. On day six (Friday) I will post a PDF of the chapter. My goal was to create a little humor, a little (ok very little) romance and a little fun with the western style story. It maybe a little slow in the beginning. I wanted to set the world up so the rest of the story can be plot and character driven. Outside of some monologuing in my book and the sequel I am working on this has some of the most dialoged I have ever written. If you include the protagonist talking to you as the narrator then it is almost all dialog. I made a separate page for this story so it will hopefully be easier to read. I am really having fun with this story. More so than I thought I would. I just hope that you the patient reader will find my childish ramblings legible and maybe even likeable. Thank you for your time, patients and understanding.
My plan for the day is simple (much like myself). Work on the new story. Work on the book (having trouble finding the story). Cut the grass. It’s going to be in the lower 70’s today with plenty of sun. all I must do is wait for the grass to dry enough so I can cut it.
will have something to post by tonight. This story will be a little different from the Specialty Service storyline. It’s a western with a sort of Romancing the Stone vibe. What I mean is one of the main characters is a writer from the east who comes looking for her heroes from the dime store novels only to find a very different reality. Yes, I am going to use most of the western tropes, but I also want a human vibe to it. I will start a little slow so I am adding a prelude paragraph or two so I can setup the action. Thank you for your time, patients and understanding.
Today should be a good Saturday. We plan on going to Sam’s Club around 11ish. They sell a large trash bag that are perfect for my deliveries. Big enough for most of the larger boxes (as in Plated and Blue Apron) and stronger than anything the company would provide (if they would ever keep large bags in stock). I plan on finishing my latest chapter today, work on the book and start a new project (which ever gets my attention first).
The new project will be a western. A person arrives in a small town in the west thinking he/she would find the town from the story books only to find an average town in America. The town’s people will have to contend with how the story books paint their town and the trouble they bring.
I will also take chapters 7 to 12 and make a PDF then combine all 12 chapters into one PDF or a book on Amazon (if they will allow it).
So, I don’t have much planned for today. Thank you for your time, patience and understanding.
This was a wet and wild delivery day. It poured the rain down. Near the Springfield Township police department on 224 the road is flooded. The right side of 224 is a mess. I was in the middle lane when a minivan created a wake tossing water onto my windshield. I lost visibility for about 5 seconds going 45 miles an hour into a curve. I may have part one of chapter 12 tonight. It all depends on what happens as I work at it today. Thank you for your time.
Have you ever felt you were living in the Jim Carrey movie The Truman Show? There was a scene in the movie where they used the traffic to block Truman from trying to escape. Then the oddity of have the similar cars pass by. At almost every stop I found myself being blocked in by cars that I swear went by before. I finished my deliveries before it got hot. I will have chapter 11 soon but part one and two of chapter 12 will take some time.
